This is a photo of me the moment I heard Sage’s heartbeat. The moment when I could hear that she had life. Her heart was beating. I remember it as the most magical moment.

Her dad caught it on camera as any good photographer would. I’m so grateful.
I remembered this photo this morning as I was meditating. I was trying to stay in my heart and out of my mind. Easier said than done for me, but I continue each day to come more from my heart. The mind is good for many things, but let’s face it. The heart trumps the mind. Our heart has the key to our deepest knowing, intuition, and desires. We often don’t dare follow our hearts. Our mind says…
“That’s irresponsible.”

“You can’t do that.”

“That’s probably impossible.”

Have you listened to your heart lately? It’s a much different voice than your mind. Your heart would not belittle you. It would make room for your deepest desires and sorrows. It would come from a place of compassion and empathy.
Your heart is also where your courage is. The Latin word for heart is ‘Cor.’ “Courage is a heart word”, says Brene Brown. She goes on to say, “In one of its earliest forms, the word Courage meant “to speak one’s mind by telling all of one’s heart. Speaking from our hearts is what I think of as ordinary courage.” It’s a very good time, maybe the best time, to listen to your heart. Can you feel the energy shifting?
This is not a mind time. It’s a heart time. Heart in all things. Your health, your relationships, your life. After all, our heartbeat comes first.
The mind is what we learn. The heart is what we deeply know.

With love
